Lakeview Behavioral Health offers SPRAVATO® treatment for adults who have tried other depression treatments and have not found enough relief. SPRAVATO® is an FDA-approved prescription nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression.
What is SPRAVATO®?
SPRAVATO® is a form of esketamine, a medication that works differently than traditional antidepressants. It is taken as a nasal spray in a supervised clinical setting and may be an option for individuals whose depression symptoms have not improved with previous medications.
Who may benefit from SPRAVATO®?
SPRAVATO® may be considered for adults who:
- Have been diagnosed with depression
- Have tried multiple antidepressants without enough improvement
- Have feelings of suicidal thoughts or actions
A Lakeview provider will complete an evaluation to determine whether SPRAVATO® is appropriate for you.
What to Expect
SPRAVATO® is given in-office under the supervision of trained medical staff. Because of possible side effects, you will remain at the clinic for monitoring after each treatment.
Patients should plan for:
- A scheduled in-office appointment
- Monitoring after each treatment
- Transportation home, as you cannot drive after treatment
- Ongoing follow-up with your care team
